I'm Ryan Montgomery. I've been an actor and director in the Bay Area for over 15 years. A liitle over 10 years ago I decided to pick up the camera and start shooting. In that time, I've taken many photographs of actors, artists, and theatrical productions as well as engagement and wedding photos. I bring my experience connecting with people of all kinds to my portrait and event work.
I've worked for companies like American Conservatory Theater, University of California Berkeley, TANTA Productions, SF Follies, and 3 Wise Monkeys. My photography has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Examiner, Bay Area Reporter, Contra Costa Times, Theatre Bay Area Magazine, SF Weekly, RayLi Magazine and the San Francisco Bay Guardian as well as many brochures and Web sites. This year I was chosen to be the photographer for massive portrait projects by both the Berkeley Police Department and the Berkeley Fire Department. Recently I took portraits of Celebrity Chef Chris Cosentino from Food Network's 'Chef vs City' and 'Best Thing I Ever Ate.'
I started taking headshots and press photos over 10 years ago and realized I could bring my acting and directing experience to the process. Over the years I've developed a style of shooting that is both dynamic and interactive because I know what it's like to be on both sides of the camera and the audition process. I use my years of involvement in the theater to identify with my clients and put them at ease as well as create images with impact. Over the years I've branched out to include clients of all kinds for all occasions.
